Sunday Story and Photograph: I Held You Till Your Last Breath

Her only wish is to see her youngest daughter march to the high school graduation stage.
The youngest one whom she's not able to fully take care of  because she's been sick since she was seven years old.
Often times in her sick bed she would talk to her daughter and always reminds her that even without her,
she needs to be okay for the rest of her growing years and for the rest of her life.
----------
The graduation wish did not happen,
One cold December night, some few days before Christmas, an angel came to take her
Before she took her last breath she looked her youngest in the eyes and asked for assurance that she will be strong and will be okay
In the midst of fear and pain while holding her mother in her fourteen year old arm, the daughter promised.
-----------

I’m not only strong “Nay” but I’ve been TOUGH.
I’m not only okay but I believe I’ve managed to be my BEST.

I love you ‘Nay…
I HELD you till your last breath,
I will LOVE you till my last…

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY

The ordinary roses and home plants remind the young daughter of her mother who loves to grow them around the house in pots or just any space with soil.  The daughter is now a mother and shares the story to her children and to other kids so they will be reminded of the importance of a MOTHER.

When you lose a mother the mourning never stops.
You just learn to live with it.

  9. I'm sorry for your loss balut.. Naintindahan ko na bakit ka nainggit sa post namin with mom. That's ok, coz you have grown into a good person with a big heart. You are a proud and happy mom with wonderful family(that shows in the pictures). If ever you dealt with bad circumstances and you needed your mom, i'm sure she's there watching you beside God asking for His guidance. Remember the footprints in the sad? God didn't left you, as well as your mom. Happy mother's day still!

    1. As I've said "When you lose a mother, the mourning never stops" - so the words of sympathy is still comforting after all those years. THANK YOU Gracie and for this wonderful wisdom in your comments - it's very fitting.

THANKS also for the greet and for the visit.

  10. You made me cry so hard while reading your special article for your mother. Like you I lost my mom when I was 11 years old then ako na ang naging nanay ng 3 little siblings ko (ages 8,6 and 8 months old) :(. Kaya super nakakarelate ako mabuti sa feeling mo. Belated happy mother's day! xoxoxoxo

    1. Hi Sam. Sorry I made you cry so hard :( When I read your comments I cried more and I still cry every time I read this. And I'm sorry to know that we had the same cruel experience of losing a mother at our young age. Yours is tougher. You dealt with sorrow at the same time with worries of responsibility for your siblings. I'm sure that it helped you a lot on what you become now.

God always has His reasons. Sabi nga, He won't give us what we can't bear. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to us sis.

  12. I am in tears... My mom was always there when I had questions or problems from work or at home. She was always helping me, even with the little money she had for me to pay my tuition fees. I wasn't able to bond with her since I had been away for many years and on the day of her demise, she succumbed to death without even having a chance to speak to anyone. Her last sentence when I left Manila the last time I saw her was, "wag mo akong pababayaan" .

I got a car this year because I was planning of taking her with me so we can o around Thailand and so hat I have transport since she needs hospitalization and doctor visits. After three weeks, I heard from my brother she passed away. Everytime I take the car to go some places, all I remember is my plan to take her around with me.

Anyway, life must go on. And I had been a good son all throughout so I will continue to be an exemplar so that She will be proud of me.
