Rizal Day 2012 and One Christmastime at Rizal Park (Luneta Park)

Today December 30, 2012, the Philippines is celebrating the 116th Anniversary of the Martyrdom of Dr. Jose Rizal.  Flags and tarpaulins has been visible in the major areas in Metro Manila since the beginning of December.  There are also other significant activities but the highlight of course is happening today at the Rizal Monument at Rizal Park Manila (Luneta Park).  You may refer to this link for the activity details.

Coming from our morning run today while seeing the Rizal Day tarpaulins in the avenue where we passed by, I suddenly remember one Christmastime with my good old friends.  It was two years back then when we were planning our Christmas get together and we can’t decide the venue. I am the usual host for such celebration but I beg off to host that particular year because I was working from home then.  I want to give give myself a breather.  Also, we have been friends for decades and we’re celebrating annually that we are almost running out of ideas. We want something different that time.  Something that will take away our holiday stress.  Something that the adult can relax and the kids will enjoy at the same time.  Somebody suggested “Luneta!” and we unanimously agreed.  We haven't tried that one.

Here’s sharing to you our fun during our Christmas celebration done in Luneta. You might experience a photo overload here.

We went to the park early because we want to catch the light and fountain show scheduled at 8AM. We know that the show is better seen at night but our priority is for the kids to enjoy the park in the morning.  So   we explored the park first then watch the lights and fountain show.

Then we look for a place to settle. We choose a place near a tree because it was drizzling from time to time.

The good thing about being in a public park like Luneta is that almost everything you need can be bought or rented.  There’s also a variety of food from the roving vendors and they are not very expensive.  We brought our own things and food but we also buy some foods that fancy us.

Eating Time. We brought variety of simple foods. The kids are definitely enjoying the picnic.
100_8061
Simply irresistible! PhP 20.00 each - not bad. So cruncy and so yummy with bagoong

There are also a lot of things that you can enjoy at the park by merely observing.

I've been seeing this group since the early times that I'm at Luneta and it's just amazing to know that after long years, this group still exist.

This vendor earned a lot from us. LOL
We made a day full activities that kids, teens, adults and even the dog enjoyed.

blowing bubble times - awesome

Carabao riding.
Luneta Park gave them the chance to enjoy things that they can not find in the mall or in their play room.

Kids are enjoying the ice cream and exchange gift to the max.
The little baby at the edge of the mat is another instant guest.  His parents found an instant baby sitter among us  lol.
100_8311
Exchange gift is now getting serious

We had sooo much fun!

For most people, Luneta might not be the best place to celebrate special occasions.  But for us, this became one among our most unforgettable bonding time.  As the saying goes , "it is not about the place or the material things that makes a moment worthwhile and special, but the people who you are with."

Our friendship is bonded with time filled with bad and good times shared together that we actually consider ourselves as family.  We always make sure that our moments together will be special and we did it at Luneta Park one Christmastime.

We have a lot more photos that will speak about this enjoyable day, you might want to view it here.

Today, Luneta has more to offer to the public especially this season.  There is an on-going carnival and some free shows and a lot more stuff to enjoy.  I just hope that people will be responsible enough not to ruin its improving beauty and reputation.  Remember that it carries the name of our National Hero.  Let’s take care of it and be proud of it.

“All men are born equal, naked, without bonds.  God did not create man to be a slave; nor did he endow him with intelligence to have him hoodwinked, or adorn with reason to have him deceived by others.”

Sunday Quote and Photograph: The Way, The Truth and The Life–Dawn Mass (Simbang Gabi 2012)

God sent a star to light the night for the

The Way, the Truth  and the Life – His Son.

He sent the Light of Life to prove His heart

so we would invite His son into our own.

God has given us all the light we’ll ever

need to find peace on earth, goodwill to men.

Photo taken using my mobile phone while I’m approaching “The Shrine of Jesus, The Way, The Truth and The Life” parish located at the Mall of Asia Complex , during my second day observance of Simbang Gabi (Dawn Mass) for this year.

I used to do church hopping each novena day from my previous years of Simbang Gabi observance but I can’t do it this year due to work and  other concerns.  Sadly, I also missed the first day of this year’s dawn mass but it did not stop me from celebrating the remaining eight days.

In an hour, I’m off to go to celebrate the 8th Day and then Run for Rescue!  Life is tough but really wonderful especially during Christmas.

All I Want for Christmas? Naah!

I’m quite hesitant to make this post because I never did make Christmas wish list for quite a long time.  Well not unless it’s necessary like for company exchange gift purposes.  But still, I don’t write it as Christmas wish list but I write it as “What I want to have even if it’s not Christmas.”  Probably by now some of you know the reason why I don’t write Christmas wishes.  As corny as it may sound but I really just have one wish after that Christmas.  Not that I’m still wishing for it. I don’t know but… I never outgrew that… It just stay that way…

Don’t get me wrong though.  It’s not that I do not enjoy the Christmas season.  I’m one passionate person when it comes to Christmas.  I do decorations, I send out personalized Christmas greetings, I shop for gifts, I go to parties… and of course I do answer to Christmas post tags from my awesome blogger friends like Joanne and Juicy Jay who tagged me in the Christmas meme called “All I want for Christmas”.  And even I’m not the kind who list down Christmas wishes, it is to my delight that I am tagged!  THANK YOU guys! Forgive me though cause I will be violating some rules here.

So here are the six things that I want to have even if it’s not Christmas.  They are actually in my “to buy” list but it’s either that I can’t find them yet or I miss to buy them.

bkxhfnawdrabcf36554simdy2ydcymue
Body Pillow
I just love to throw them anywhere and hug them after spending a lot of sitting time with my lappy while I’m alone at home.  Btw, I hate small pillows.

Miami Heat #6 Jersey Shirt with sleeves (Female Cut/Black or Red)
I’m a huge Lebron James fan (don’t even try to argue with this because I promised you it would be a war! LOL) I’ve been looking for this kind of shirt but what I usually find are  big sizes for male. Medium female cut will do for me.

Nike Running Socks Size 6
Yes I can’t get enough of this and I’m biased with the swoosh brand (forgive me).

x58ylzcl9khd71cljxge69btvvg15jbe
Running Watch
It does not need to be extra-ordinary or expensive. I just simply love watches of all kind.  Running give me an extra reason to collect different watch designs (wink*).  I love them in shocking colors (orange, purple, green, yellow but NOT pink).

Baby Ruth Bars
I’m not a chocolate/sweet lover but there’s something with the Baby Ruth bar that takes away my bad mood or my hang-ups whenever I' have one.  I love biting the bar so I don’t like the bite size.

Cell Phone Holder with clip FOR Waist Belt.
It’s a bit the same in the photo but something that is designed for running.  I’m looking for a holder with belt but not a belt bag (it’s complicated I know, that’s why I can’t find it LOL).

There it is!  The six things I wanted to have even if it’s not Christmas.  And EVERYBODY is TAGGED!  so everybody can do their wish list.

As for my list - I made it simple and they can all be sent via post right?  I am sending you all my postal address (grinning).  Remember, you can send them to me even if it’s not Christmas! Smile with tongue out

Sunday Memory and Photograph: A Mother for Christmas

It was the 9th of December,

A Thursday night,

15 Days before Christmas,

The Christmas lights were off

Lanterns and decors remain unhanged

Angels came and took the woman from the young girl’s arm,

And the young girl had never wish for anything,

But a MOTHER for Christmas.

Happy 1st to Us! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Happy 1st53,520 hits for the first 365 days and still counting!

Happy 1st to us!

Obviously my wish number 1 came true!  Wishes number 2, 3 and 4 are all on going.  Details will be shared on the coming posts.  Wish number 5 is definitely on and (simple) prices will be sent out!  The recipient list is done BUT! I might pick some more from this anniversary post (wink*wink*).   But again, I apologize that prices will be sent out after the holidays.

I’m not Santa so I won’t say “Ho Ho Ho!” from your chimneys. Rather you might find your (private) inbox with “Can you send me your address please? Hi hi hi…”   or another question with a “hi hi hi” (lol but seriously yes).

To all my readers, followers and fellow bloggers I am overwhelmed and lost for words.  THANK YOU SO MUCH to all you awesome people.

Cheers to more blogoversaries! and hugs to all!

Countdown to 1st Anniversary Part 5 (Final): Love the Guys Who Blog and THANK them!

Every lady likes a guy who dress good, smells good, opens the door for you, carries your bag,  who softly holds your back when you cross the street, and the one who has great abs… of course!

What about a guy who writes and blog? Seriously?

man writing
I LOVE THEM!  more so that they stand by me all along my blogging way.   Here’s a pack of  “uber” lovable blogging guys!  It’s my turn to acknowledge and THANK them for being here  during the first year journey of my blog. And just like the Ladies Who Blog That I Love, I mention some of my favorite posts from their archives!  Go ahead and visit them!

Some kind of wonderful to wonder what would be their next posts…
  • MEcoy – “What Super Power You Would Want To Have??” – quite an opening post huh!
He’s one heaven-sent fellow blogger.  So efficient and can discuss anything under the sun plus lots of  talents.  Awesome kid!
  • Super Mario/Unplog
After reading all his funny and witty “torpe side comments”, horror, fitness, back pack series, I was speechless in “Sukob Na...
Busy Bee... Busy Me...” a post full of wisdom is also one among my favorites.
(and yes Super M, I am continuously back reading your posts)
  • King Archieviner/Chateau De Archieviner
Very sweet and admirable guy.  Salute to your OFW posts and journal.  I’m still back reading but “Me and Kapatidz” really sent me ROFL!
  • Juicy Jay/Thoughts of Journeying Jay
This guy talks about anything under the sun and it’s astonishing how he incorporates multi topics in one blog entry.  My current fave is “ About Suzuki Cup, of Blog Contest, of Vacation, Of FB-ing, and of Recent Pinas Happenings : RANDOM Thoughts” We both love sports yey!
My blogging lullabies…
  • Arvin/Written Feelings
Arvin’s blog reminds me of “Liwayway Komiks” with his classical Tagalog stories.  I love his “By Request” and of course this one is my most favorite – “Saksi (by request)
  • Red/Muhon
I just wish that this poet from Batangas would post more often.  I really love his “poetic mystery” writing style.  Try to read “From a Black Hole” and all his Tagalog entries and you will know what I mean.
Talks a lot of sense…

Bino/Damuhan– Do I need to say more? The name says it all! I love all his posts but I like his "rants the most. (LOL)
Gene/Metered Words; McRich/blissfully RICH; Olivr/The Beat Box; Lawrence/Colors and Grays Michael/Show Me Your Look Today; Albert/How To Become An Einstein

They fly me to the moon…

They connect me to their culture…
Roffe/Norway “The Viking from The North”; Leolux/Spain “Blog De Dibujo; Buzz Lightyear “Black Swamp Cornucopia
Never fails to make me ROFL and missing them a lot…
I’m happy they are just around…
THANK YOU guys!  Y’all rock!

P.S.
I drafted and posted this last installment “against all odds”.  Again, while on a chaotically tight schedule and using a laptop without mouse.  Jezzz! My cat kicked my mouse while I went for a quick trip to the bath room.  I found it dangling at the side of my desk with two parts shattered on the floor looking “beyond quick fix”.  I gave my cat the look “Why would you do that?” and it look at me with “Now I got your attention.  You’re ignoring me since yesterday because of that blog :(

Again, if I missed mentioning some blogs I apologize.  Please come back later and it would definitely be here.

Countdown to 1st Anniversary Part 4: Love The Ladies Who Blog and THANK them!

Lady BloggerThere’s so much you can get from blogging but the best of them all is friendship!  Imagine exchanging both intellectual and funny nonsense ideas and stories with people you meet in the blogosphere? Simply awesome!

Views and comments from all over the world made me smile. It fascinates me when they search for a certain (key)word or anything, they landed in your blog and they got to see your work. More so if they commented or expressed appreciation.

But there’s this kind of unique happiness.when the ones spending time in your blog are your fellow bloggers who are actually following and reading your posts in spite of the chaos and deadlines within their individual lives – wow! that is heaven!

I have an absolutely unique pack of blogger friends who has always been there making my blogging experience extra awesome.  Check out their works and you will find a vast ocean of entertaining and  informative ideas.  It’s quite a mixture :)

I categorize them on how I perceive them in my own “blog world”.  The link that follows their name are one among my favorites from their blog archives.

Can’t wait for these ladies to update:
  • Gracie/Gracie’s Network - Pocketbook Series and all her sequels (but this is actually tied with Capture the Colour post)
  • Joanne/Joanne’s Blog - Capture the Colour
I know she’s “kikay and makulet” about everything but I was really amazed how she presented this post. Love it!
They inspire me…
  • Joy/Joy’s Notepad – The "rainbow"
I like all of Joy’s post but this one really marked in my head. I just read this recently when she commented on my “Rainbow” post.
  • Encourage One Another
They fly me to the moon…
  • Leah/Travel Quest - A Paradise Called Boracay
In spite of the many magnificent places she has been to there’s a certain pride on how she blog about the Philippine’s beach pride.
  • Mhie/Travelentz - Family Spent New Year in Philippines
She hops from one place to another but she really expressed that there’s no place like home.
  • TPW/The Pinay Wandere – Q&A: About The Pinay Wanderer
Knowing something about the person TPW aside from her informative approach on the places she has been to is a cute niche breaker.
You can talk about anything with them:
  • Sam/There’s No Place That Far - The Annual Boston Marathon
The title is the obvious reason why I like this post and this also marked the beginning of  our friendship via the blogosphere.
  • KM/More Than Sexy - Pardon My Rant
The sexy KM is ranting ha ha – something new to my eyes.
The “Girls that I Just Wanna Have Fun”:
I’m just simply happy that they are around…
Joanne/26 with 4 Kids, Rovie/Pinoy Family Man, Nortehanon/Daydream Believer, Irene/I Wright Every New Episode, Lucky Vixen/The Lucky Vixen – The Versatile Blogger Awardees, Krizza/ng My Second Blog - "Home Sweet Home", Anne/Here You'll Find Me,

Missing these ladies…
Mitch/Ramblings of a Domestic Goddess; Weng Tamayosa Anewor's Sanctuary; Chekeegirl/Sound of Life;  Mayette/Missus Bounty Basket; Dada/The Lucky Dodeng; Mac/Macky's AlleyD' Explorer,Yam/I Explore

and! (drum roll) Here’s the real deadly fabulous ones!
  • ZaiZai/Zai Moonchild - Luwas sa Undas
Zany fabulous Zai turned into the sweetest son and brother.
  • Kulapitot - Dear Deo and all her Deo posts
I find this really entertainingly “uber” funny!
  • Sunny Toast The New LBD
Almost without words but the shortness says it all. You rock!
THANK YOU! You made my blogging life sooooo AWESOME!

I may have missed some names – my apologies.  I kinda mess up my draft for this and I’m catching a post date so… just visit back and you might find your name here (later).

Countdown to 1st Anniversary Part 3: Looking Back

Anniversary countdown would not be complete without taking you down memory lane and look back on how did it go on the year that was…

102_0656
  • November 29, 2011
    – when I posted my first blog entry.
  • December 2012
    – is filled of exciting and unforgettable entries.  I realized that the best time to start a blog  is just before the holiday season because there was so much exciting topics to feature.  Page views started to pick up by this month and I became more than enthusiastic to continue posting.
  • January 2012
    – is a month full of festivals.  The posts started to be more colorful and full of adventure.
  • February 2012
It ranked PR1 after 71 days of blogging and merely 20 posts.  The love month is also the month when I started posting concerts, shows and events.  There is a complete compilation of the very popular 3rd Philippine International Pyromusical Competition here.  This month recorded the most number of  blog entries = 21!  But it’s kinda tough to maintain a daily post since I am managing three active blogs.
  • March 2012
    – My birthday month and as I’ve mentioned in  Part 1, this is the month that I actually promoted this blog.  Followers and blogger friends started to increase.
  • April 2012
    – This is a very productive month.  I started receiving several offers for blog deals and opportunities and the likes.
This is also a colorful month because I featured a lot of summer related posts and exciting places like  churches.
  • May 2012
    – We are on high spirit here.  From PR1 it soared to PR2 in 157 days!  I also host my first ever giveaway on this month sponsored by a sunglasses company. The blog traffic continued to shoot up.
  • June 2012
    – The traffic continued to pick up and more blogging opportunities came.  I started applying for adverts and they are all approved. However, I intentionally did not submit this blog for Google Adsense because of the negative experiences by fellow bloggers.  Some of them were rejected, some accounts were suspended and worst, some were banned.  Gone are the days that you just need to create a blog and apply for GA.
  • July 2012
    – More blogging opportunities came including sponsorship for giveaways.  However, I somehow feel that the niche or purpose of this blog is getting mixed up.  I intentionally put limits on the “commercialization” of this site, thus the creation of The Lucky Blog where I am channeling the other blog deal offers.
  • August and September 2012
    – is the month with the lowest number of blog posts.  Yours truly needs to be in hiatus.
  • October 2012
    – Hiatus mode is over.  I tried to work on much as I can and thrive to get back on the regular posting.
  • November 2012 – Hello World! It’s our anniversary month!
We’re on with the countdown, later peeps!

Countdown to 1st Anniversary Part 2: My Top 10 Favorite Posts

Here’s sharing my most favorite blog entries from this site as part of the celebration of my 1st Blogoversary.
  1. Missionaries of Charity Home of Joy for the Sick Children
Usually when you start a blog, the first entry that you will make is the introduction about it.  Something like “About” or “Hello World”.  I drafted that kind of post but I remember drafting as well my second post.  I’m supposed to publish my introductory entry first but for some twist of fate this entry became my very first post. I’m not sure how did it happen.  This post is a consistent top best viewed entry on this site.

By the way, you might want to click on this post and visit the “Home of Joy” and make it a part of your gift giving activity this holiday season.
  2. Hello World Have You Ever Tasted Balut?
I found this post as very “me” and a perfect introductory post for this blog.  I also found it amusing and it always makes me smile every time I'm reading this.
  3. Philippines' World Record Breaking Attempt for the Longest Line of Coins
This is actually unforgettable rather than favorite.  I sincerely like this post but it also comes with a “not-so-happy-memory”.  I lost money while I’m covering this event (sad).  I badly needed that money during that time (sigh).
  4. Behind the Beckham Bend Experience
No further explanation.  It’s in the title itself.  I’m a BIG David Beckham fan!
  5. The Bourne Identity is in.  The Blogger is Out and all my posts of January 2012.
It’s because I am amazed how I managed to update my blog while I’m away almost the whole month of January 2012.  I was hopping from town to town then and yet I managed to write and published blog entries.  I obviously love this blog yeah?
  6. Logos Hope - The Floating Book Fair and More
I guess anything that is related to service and charity is close to my heart.  Even if I’m not able to join these people in helping and reaching out, at least I am able to promote their cause.  I also enjoy that day.
  7. Sunday Song and Photographs: She's Always A Woman (and ALL my Sunday and Photograph posts)
This is the first time that I really promoted my blog and a lot of showing my face LOL.  If you will notice on my earlier posts there isn’t photos of mine.  I was used to blogging before without sharing about my person because I was working for someone else’s site and writing about something else.  Later I realized that there’s so much about me in this blog so heck why not show me and let you all bear with my ugly face :P.
This is also the start of gaining more blogger friends.
  8. Randomness on the 4th of July
Random post happens when you can’t think of anything in particular to write.  But I remember myself being so inspired writing coming from that routine run, I can’t wait to finish my shower. Still wrapped in my towel I sat down in my home office, opened my laptop, hit the keyboard and came out of this post.  I sooo love it! The last sentence should be “Thank you God for this day!  And thank you for the gift of being able to write about it!”
  9. Inside the Home of General Emilio Aguinaldo-An Independence Day 2012 Special Post (and all the historical places I featured here).
This post is kinda challenging. There’s a lot of blog posts about this place and some came from popular journalists and bloggers. I ‘m a bit intimidated writing about this so what I did is to make a different approach.  I myself is surprised with the outcome. It is one among the top ten best viewed post on this site.
  10. All my “Sunday and Photograph” posts.
I created this category to serve as some sort of a filler.  The purpose is to have at least one post in a week if I happen to be so busy that I can’t write a full length post.  But it never happened that way.  I still allot an ample time thinking (and in advance) and creating my Sunday and Photograph post.  Later I received a lot of good feed backs from my fellow bloggers about this category.  Some said that they are actually looking forward to my “Sunday and Photograph” posts.  It also became my avenue in writing my own prose, poems and short story.
Sunday and Photograph

That’s it! my top ten most favorite posts.  But the truth is, when I was going over my posts choosing the top ten, it kind of been difficult for me.  Each entry on this blog has a special meaning and memory.  I realized that I really put a piece of my heart on this blog.

What about you?  What is your most favorite post from your blog?

Countdown to 1st Anniversary Part 1 : Wish List

November 29, 2011 is the date of my first blog post on this blog site.  Counting from today it's six more days before my “Blogoversary”.  Yey!

I will be doing “Countdown to 1st Anniversary” posts starting from today.  This means that I will be making a daily post all about this blog starting from today (crossing my fingers not to miss a day post) until my anniversary day on the 29th of November.  This will be kinda challenging for me because I will be back in hiatus starting the week of 26th November (call of duty).  But I will try my best to update and blog hop as much as I can.  Blogging and blog hopping are my best stress buster anyway.

So to start with my countdown, let me share to you my wishes regarding this blog.  Who knows some of you would be so kind enough to grant them. They are just simple wishes anyway.
  1. To reach at least 50K views on my 1st Blogoversary.
See? I just added a widget about my blogoversary countdown and it comes with a particular request.  I will show the actual “blog’s stats” widget on the 29th of November so everybody will  know if this wish is granted.  You may want to be my hero and grant this simple wish…

    WishList
  2. Give this blog a make over.
I have the idea in my mind how I want this to look like but I can’t find the time to do the “tweaking”.  I want to allot an ample time so when I don’t want the outcome I could change it over and over again (I’m “uber” I know).
Better yet, if anyone could refer anybody to do the makeover at a reasonable price please send me a private message in my Contact Form or in any private message you wish.  I’m wiling to negotiate, you just need to listen on how I want this to look like - nothing extra ordinary though.  If anybody can send some sample designs,  I love to see them.
Or if anyone from my “tweak-loving blogger friends” want to grant this as an anniversary gift that would be so awesome (I said I know I’m “uber” lol).
  3. Give this blog its own domain.
This is very doable but number 2 is a prerequisite to number 3.  Who says so? I say :(.  I wish to give this a more professional look before making this a domain.
  4. To gain more followers and meet more friends through this blog.
I’m guilty of not initiating “Follow” in GFC and with the other social media tools.  But once you initiated, I will surely FOLLOW YOU BACK!
Also, I created a new blog roll here called “My Link to the World”.  I’'m calling all non-Filipino bloggers.  I am sharing a lot about my country the Philippines and I would love to exchange links with you!  Can you be my link to the world?
  5. To have an “Anniversary-Christmas-Giveaway-in-One”.There will be no contests involve.  I will just be sending simple gifts to some people that I know I should particularly thank in relation to this blog.  It has to wait after the holidays though.  I don’t want to be stressed sending items via post at this season.
So don’t greet me yet! Greet me on the 29th.  For now, JUST BE MY HERO! Thanks!

Sunday Quote and Photograph: Twilight

TWILIGHT, again.

Another ending.

No matter how perfect the day is,

it always has to end.

There’s so much truth in today’s quote. There comes a time in our lives that we are lucky to have a day that seems so perfect.  That you do not want that day to end.  But like everything else in this world it still has to end.  Even a beautifully written saga has ended.

Random: Traffic!

♫ Oh the traffic outside is frightful,
But the scenes are so delightful
And since we’ve no place to go,
Let It Flow! Let It Flow! Let It Flow! ♫
I’m sorry to warp a bit this joyful Christmas carol, but this is exactly what I’m feeling right now after being on the road everyday of this week fixing things and documents and haist!

I’m unfortunate to be hopping to three major cities in Metro Manila for this whole week.  Three different cities but one thing in common – horrendous traffic!  Not that traffic is new to me being a city dweller.  But these days is really horrendous!

Obviously it’s about the holiday rush.  City dwellers are quite expecting that this scenario begins this week when everybody is back from the All Saints Day (Halloween) holiday break, and

when street children start knocking on car doors and hopping on jeeps singing Jingle Bells,

when every corner turned magical,

when trees turned into tree of lights and electric fireflies are everywhere,

when streets and avenues look like hangar,

when the Nativity scene suddenly appears on tall building’s roof tops and walls,

when the bearded man in red suddenly appears on shops ceilings with his reindeers

and when tropical Philippines suddenly has winter wonderland venues!

the Philippines Christmas season officially starts indeed and boom! the horrendous traffic comes with it!

I took these random shots from the SM Mall of Asia (MOA) using my mobile phone.  I could have captured the scenes during the annual ceremonial lightings of the streets of Makati City because I was at the area earlier that day.  But what I did is what I habitually do when in Makati City.  I always try to escape the city during the rush hour of a working day.  I opted to go home early rather than witness the lighting fun, then be sorry later if caught in traffic for hours which I'm absolutely sure will happen.

On Friday night it took me one and a half hours to be back home from MOA area.  It is supposed to be just ten to fifteen minutes without traffic.  In fact I can easily walk or run this distance to-and-fro.  Had it not been I’m wearing a business suit matched with a heeled shoes that day, I could have just run or walk my way back home (LOL).

Then what greeted me upon reaching home is the TV news that there was a multi-vehicular road accident at  C-5 Road (Makati City and Tagig City areas). One person died and twelve people were hurt from this traffic accident where eleven vehicles are involved.

C’mon people!  The reason why it is called the “holiday rush”  is because of the Christmas holiday – the season of giving and sharing.  Why are you all so hot headed on the road?   Should it be that the official song these days is ♫Give Love on Christmas Day♫ ?

Brace yourselves for more holiday happenings, but most of all brace yourselves for the horrendous city traffic! So be cool people!

Btw:

If you want to have an official welcoming of the Yuletide season, the 50 foot Christmas Tree of the SM Mall Asia will be lighted on Sunday, November 11, 2012 at 5PM.
